Electrophysiologist near Portland, OR

A candidate is sought for a Cardiac Electrophysiologist (EP) position within an expanding cardiology program. This role provides an opportunity to shape and grow EP services, bringing advanced cardiac care to the local community.

Cardiology Clinic The position joins a collaborative team that includes a dedicated EP Physician Assistant, a robust device clinic, and two EP labs equipped with Abbott EnSite mapping. The role balances time between the EP lab, clinic, and inpatient rounding. The program provides comprehensive services, including pacemakers, ICDs, heart failure devices, Watchman procedures, complex ablations, and device management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of elective and emergent EP procedures

  • Provide outpatient clinic care and inpatient rounding

  • Optional: Read ECHOs and perform TEEs

  • Document care accurately and in compliance with regulations

  • Collaborate on policies, protocols, and quality initiatives

  • Build and maintain a referral base for EP services

  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounding and supervise an EP PA

Qualifications

  • MD from an accredited school of medicine

  • Current Oregon medical license and DEA registration

  • Fellowship training in Cardiology and Electrophysiology (ACGME/AOA)

  • ABIM or AOA Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Cardiology (or eligible within 5 years of fellowship completion)

  • Added Qualifications in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology or fellowship equivalent

  • Proven experience with at least 100 core cardiology procedures in the last 24 months

  • Moderate or Deep Sedation privileges and ACLS certification

  • Documentation of training, competency, and procedural logs required
