Hospital Medicine Nocturnist – Admitting Focus

• Our Hospital Medicine team serves as the vital link between the Emergency Department, primary care, and definitive inpatient management within a large, high-acuity health system. We are seeking a dedicated Nocturnist who thrives in a collaborative, physician-led environment and is comfortable managing a robust inpatient admissions workload.

The Position

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts; 15 shifts per month for full-time status
• Workflow: Staggered start times (5 PM and 8 PM) to ensure smooth transitions and continuous overnight coverage
• Team Structure: Work alongside a second nocturnist physician with APP support overnight
• EMR: Fully integrated Epic system
• Admissions Volume: Average hospital census of ~45 admits per day (range 30–60); typically 6–10 admissions per nocturnist per shift
