New Mexico rural Pediatric opening

Position Overview

• Full-time BE/BC Pediatrician
• Employed by Hospital system
• Mix of outpatient pediatrics with newborn nursery coverage
• No high-acuity inpatient pediatrics (hospital does not run a dedicated pediatric inpatient unit)
• Level I–II nursery; higher acuity transfers go Albuquerque, NM or Lubbock, TX

Clinical Structure

• Outpatient clinic located adjacent to facility
• Newborn rounding shared with family medicine
• Call: typically low volume; shared rotation
• Patient population: high Medicaid mix, strong community need for pediatric access

Compensation & Benefits (systemwide norms)

• Base salary is negotiable: usually $250k–$300k range depending on experience
• Sign-on bonus: commonly $20k–$40k
• Relocation: provided
• Quality incentives: annual
• Occurrence malpractice (no tail needed)
• 403(b) with employer match, CME funds, medical/dental/vision
• NHSC/PSLF eligible (area qualifies as a shortage area)

Community

• City is a low-cost, family-friendly community near the Texas border
• 1 hour to Lubbock, 2 hours to Amarillo
• Strong Air Force presence (Cannon AFB)
