TeleHospitalist Position in Iowa

recruiting for a Telehospitalist Physician to join our system-wide team in IA and IL

• Provide TeleHospitalist coverage at Hospital
• Position is employed with Clinic
• Flexibility with schedule including nights, weekends, and Holidays

  • 15-16, 9-hour shifts/month
  • 10a-7p
  • 0.8 FTE
  • Self-scheduling

• Response time within 30 minutes
• Utilize Vidyo Telehealth
• Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
• Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills
• Managing cross coverage & low acuity admissions (as needed) on overnight shift for one or more hospitals, depending on the number of beds covered.
• Cross cover needs, include but not limited to entering orders, calling nurses, staff, patients, or families.
• Helping with transfers to higher level of care if needed overnight, transfer to ICU or other floors within same facility, calling in through Vidyo to evaluate patients if needed.
• Documentation per CMS & TH guidelines for H&Ps, cross coverage, significant events, handoff, etc.

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Requires 1 year of bedside clinical experience as a Hospitalist
• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in your state of residency, AND IA, IL and WI
• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice
• Credentialed at all hospitals staffed by a TeleHospitalist
• Unemployable states: NY, CA, OR, VT, WA, DC
