Family Medicine Faculty Needed in North Florida for Established Program

  • Academic Opportunities
  • North Florida Family Medicine Residency Program is recruiting a board-certified Family Medicine physician to become a full-time member of their core clinical teaching faculty with an outpatient/inpatient mix. While their faculty do cover the OB service, they are not presently in need of an FM-OB provider. Previous clinical teaching is preferred.

About the program

  • Their program is an 11-11-11 community program with a mission to provide outstanding training for Family Medicine residents by providing excellent patient care in an atmosphere of mutual support and trust. Their group boasts a passion for service at a hospital that is growing its academic footprint, and has a proud history of training caring, competent family physicians for over 50 years. They are seated in the heart of the Florida Panhandle, in a bustling capital city with the government sector and multiple universities, surrounded by over a hundred miles of rural land in all directions. This provides great learning opportunities across demographics and pathologies and in multiple learning environments, both urban and rural.

Key points:

  • Community Residency Program for 50 years, with OB Fellowship and 100% board passage
  • Cohort of supportive colleagues with a broad range of skills, interests, and experience
  • Split time between educational, administrative, and clinical care with an outpatient/inpatient mix and an overnight call (by phone) shared among 10-12
  • Private-Not for Profit with Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligibility
  • Academic appointment at local college of medicine
  • Upcoming transition to Epic EMR and state-of-the-art 130,000sqft Academic Health Center
  • Competitive salary and benefits with relocation assistance for those eligible and generous PTO and CME

The Community

  • Near, but far, from the well-known destinations of the Sunshine State, the city offers a distinct culture and community with access to some of the world’s greatest beaches.  Often described as “The Other Florida” with its deep-rooted history, rolling hills, mild climate, southern-style hospitality and canopy roads of moss-draped oaks.
  • They are a medium-sized city where the power of the state government and a vibrant academic and artistic community are complemented by old-fashioned charm. They are located in the central northwest panhandle region of Florida, 30 minutes north of the Gulf of Mexico and 30 minutes south of Thomasville, Georgia.
