Minnesota – Hospitalist

• Flexibility to split with outpatient Family Medicine or Internal Medicine if desired
• Pay incentive for extra shifts
• Full-time equivalent = 24 weeks/year
• Well-established Hospitalist program and “Top 100 Rural Hospital in America”
• 162-bed hospital and Level III Trauma Center
• Schedule:  7 on 7 off, 12 hour shifts.
• Hospitalists will cover Med/Surg & ICU, including ventilator co-management with intensivist, RT, and remote support
• Current team is 10 physicians and 2 NPs
• Opportunity to teach and precept medical and PA students, and for future program leadership
• 13-16 patients per day, per hospitalist (rounding and admitting) 
• Average inpatient practice volume per day: Med Surg-50 / ICU-10.  Average daily census on unit: 50-60
• Home to Marilyn Covey Heart & Vascular Center and St. Joseph’s Cancer Center
• Certified Primary Stroke Center, co-management with stroke neurology, growing cardiovascular program, and top-performing sepsis care
• Hospitalist team runs codes and rapid responses
• No procedures required (general surgery performs central lines)

• REQUIREMENTS
• BC/BE Internal Medicine or Hospitalist Residency, or Family Medicine with Hospitalist experience
• Current ACLS Required
• Option for FCCS course for added critical care education

• Located at the center of Minnesota
• Home to top bike trails, lakes, hunting, fishing, schools, and restaurants in rural MN
• There is a Delta Airport hub with twice-daily flights to Minneapolis/St. Paul
• Area population: 65,000; Regional service area: 115,000
• 125 miles north of Minneapolis/St. Paul
