6 on, 8 off Nocturnist Schedule – Work/Life Balance – New Critical Care Tower
- Northwestern Pennsylvania hospital is seeking a full-time Nocturnist Intensivist for hospital-based adult critical care practice.
- Join a multidisciplinary team, including highly trained Advanced Practice Providers to support the service line
- Intensivists are expected to coordinate care with sub-specialists and provide supervision for a full staff of highly trained critical care Physician Assistants
- Full time position with flexible (12) 14-hour night shifts monthly (2,016 hours annually)
- 6 on 8 off schedule
- Coverage to include Trauma, Surgical, Kidney Transplant, Medical, Neuro and Cardiovascular ICU beds
- Candidate should have completed fellowship training and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care Medicine
- A desire to teach medical students, residents, and staff
As their regional presence as a tertiary hub has expanded in recent years, it means more acutely ill patients need a higher quality of care. In 2021, a seven-story patient care tower housing two new intensive care units, opened at the hospital.
The patient care tower features:
- 64 critical care beds to accommodate critically ill, trauma, and surgery patients.
- An expanded radiology department that includes a 3T MRI.
- Strategically positioned nurses stations that allow staff to see patients as well as monitor them electronically.
- Nurses alcoves located directly outside each patient room, where staff has immediate access to patient information and the ability to see directly into two adjacent rooms.
