Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in central New York and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University, is seeking Ophthalmologist – Surgical Retina Specialist to join our staff.

Healthcare Network is an integrated health care system that provides care and service to people living in an eight county region covering 5,600 square miles in Central New York.  The organization includes five corporately affiliated hospitals, as well as skilled nursing facilities, community and school- based health centers, and health partners in related fields.   

The retina surgeon would be based in NY with very limited outreach responsibilities. This is vibrant and sophisticated upstate community set in a beautiful lake front village affording four seasons of cultural and outdoor activity. An unparalleled and well-appointed community sport center and excellent public school system.

Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Join an established group of 6 Ophthalmologists and 3 Optometrists.   A brand-new eye clinic is being constructed and is expected to open in 2025.
  •  

  • The candidate will be taking over current specialist surgical practice
  •  

  • Currently there are specialists in surgical and medical retina, cornea, pediatrics and glaucoma   
  •  

  • The support staff is well trained and experienced in both the clinic and operating room 
  •  

  • On call is every 6th weekend and rarely busy
  •  

  • Opportunities exist for both research and teaching if interested
  •  

  • Referral patterns to tertiary care ophthalmologists are well established
  •  

  • Salary Range: $349,547 – $594,736 plus performance based compensation. This compensation range represents Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified

  • Fellowship in Surgical Retina
  •  

  • NYS Licensure
  •  

  • BLS Certification Required
