Laborist – Metro New Mexico

• Position is eight 24-hour shifts per month

• Must have familiarity with managing high acuity obstetric patients – with maternal-fetal medicine consultation available at the hospital.

• Frequently occurring clinical conditions include high BMI, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, and preterm labor management.

• Facility has an established treatment program for opioid-addicted pregnant patients, training and the ability to obtain DEA waiver to prescribe is critical

• Emergency Room consultations are limited to patients requiring inpatient admission or anticipated surgery.

• Perform C-Sections or other surgical procedures as needed to preserve patients’ health and deliver babies safely

• 53-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, 24/7emergency department, 16 L&D rooms, 41-bed Mother-Baby unit and a Maternal-Fetal Medicine program for high-risk pregnancies. Additionally, the hospital is home to a Natural Birthing Center, where women who wish to have a more natural delivery can deliver in a safe environment

Position Requirements:
• Current board certification or currently board eligible

• Two+ years of experience
