Delaware – Trauma Surgeon

• My client is looking for an experienced Trauma Surgeon for the position of Trauma Director.  You will join a hospital-based group of general and specialty surgeons.   

• In addition to the facility transition from a Level III to a Level II Trauma Center the position would entail general surgery, trauma call and the opportunity to develop any other special interests you may have. 

• This is an opportunity to build a Trauma Service with a busy and financially sound institution. July 2021 saw the start of their new IM and FM residency programs and a General Surgery residency has been accredited to start in the summer of 2022.  An emergency medicine residency program will be in place the summer of 2023.

  • In addition to a Director, they are also looking for at least one Trauma Surgeon to help get the program started. Their goal would be to have Trauma service with 3-4 physicians and 3-4 APCs.

  • Their ED currently sees 56,000+ visits per year.  They have Neurosurgery, CT Surgery, Interventional Cardiology, Interventional Neurology and Interventional Radiology on staff and are looking for the right leader to take them to the next level.  Their tertiary care center is 45 miles north.
