My client is a general anesthesiologist working in a critical access hospital in Berlin New Hampshire. They are now providing pain management services to the community. At the current time they have a locum tenens coming to the hospital 2 days a week. They are also in need of an anesthesia provider as well. His company has a professional services agreement with the hospital. He is looking for someone who will be employed by his group. That will make a grand total of two anesthesiologists and one CRNA. He is looking for an MD who can practice anesthesia about 60% of the time and pain management for the remainder.
A typical work schedule in anesthesia usually means that one person is still working after lunch. On one or 2 days a week both rooms may go into the afternoon. They do mostly bread and butter cases. They have 3 general surgeons, 3 orthopedic surgeons, 3 OB/GYN providers, one ENT, one urologist, one podiatrist, and a visiting ophthalmologist.
My client is looking to fast track someone to partnership and director ship of the business. As he slows down his practice, he would like to hire another CRNA. His thoughts are that some day he will help cover call, cover vacations and some weekends.
Compensation: He is thinking the beginning salary for a well qualified candidate would be at least $350,000 per year.
Relocation/student loan packages can be negotiated.
All call is taken from home. For OB patients, they see them in and place an epidural catheter and once the patient is stable, they go home. The obstetrician manages the epidural and removes the catheter after delivery.
On about half of the weekends they don't get called in at all. 9/10 nights on-call he gets a full nights sleep.
